I am currently implementing CRM on Sybase (Windows 2008) and we initially had two scenarios, but I'm starting to think that neither are supported:
1) Cluster the CRM database (cold standby option) using Sybase ASE HA (this bit is ok) but they also want to replicate the database to the
backup datacentre. I was hoping to use Sybase Replication Server for this, but I'm not sure that it's supported with Sybase ASE HA. I know that the Cluster Edition has an option for 'Sybase Replication Services', but I'm also aware that it doesn't run on Windows!..so in short, can we use Sybase Replication Server to replicate a Sybase ASE HA database?
2) The scenario was the normal DR using Sybase Replication Server: When I advised them (the client) that Sybase Replication Server was a 'Warm Standby' technology, they said, 'we don't want warm standby, we want cold standby' as they've had problems with data corruption in the past - so they want a 4 hour time lag!!!...so, is there an option for Cold Standby, using Sybase Replication Server?
I've raised a call with SAP with regards to this, but any help / advice would be appreciated.
