Re: how to start ASE?

Since you bounced the linux host I'm assuming 1 of 3 issues:

1 - your shared memory configurations did not survive the reboot, ie, the linux admin didn't update the appropriate system config file(s) prior to the reboot; your linux admin will need to reconfigure the shared memory settings (and hopefully update the appropriate system config file(s) this time)

2 - the reboot failed to clear the shared memory files, ie, ipcs -a shows several files using up shared memory space; doubtful this is the issue but if it is then the linux admin will need to confirm the shared mem segments aren't in use before using ipcrm to remove said segments

3 - you rebooted linux while ASE was up, ie, ASE was shutdown hard; see my comments in your other thread (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3530176) for a hint/suggestion on what needs to be done
